Videos to Inspire Creative Acts of Kindness
Start where you are. Use what you have.
Do what you can.

I appreciate this quote from Arthur Ashe. Living with kindness does not require us to complicate our lives, but invites us to be creative and find simple ways to express our appreciation of others.
I found several videos of people thanking delivery drivers by leaving a basket of goodies and a written invitation by their door. With the increased dependence on home delivery, many people have found ways to use what they have on hand in their acts of kindness.
This video is a good example of using what we have, to say “Thank you” to people who make our lives easier. Sarah Barnes found treats in her panty – mostly children’s snacks – and they were a big hit with the men who delivered her packages. She gave us all a guideline to inspire us to take some simple action - “No act of kindness is ever too small,”

In the next video, a whole neighborhood got together to express their appreciation for the UPS driver who had delivered packages to them for 13 years. In that time, Gregory Watkins had become like family to a Smithtown, NY neighborhood. I enjoy seeing kindness collaborations, and this one gives us food for thought about what we might initiate in our neighborhoods.

The next video has a different theme – an act of kindness that took some time and determination to complete. Ana’s first grade teacher’s kindness had such a ripple effect on her life that 40 years later, she tracked her down, with help from the Kentucky Department of Education. Their reunion is heart-warming

A lifelong teacher and learner, I so appreciated the video of the lawyer whose life began on track with the extraordinary attention of her first grade teacher. It reminds me that kindness ALWAYS matters and each kindness lands where it has the possibility of transformation. Thank you for all you examples, especially this one.
Thank you, Ruth. I, too, was very moved by that story. We never know when or how the seeds we plant will grow, but many certainly do, unseen by us. That is all I need to know.
